1994 Mazda RX-7
If you have been following the GE3KSPD Facebook or Instagram pages, you have probably noticed by now that I am around many, many Mazdas. However, one practical Mazda holds a very special place in my heart. The Mazda RX-7, FD. When the FD came out, it was on Car and Driver’s Ten Best list for every year the car was sold in the states. Fast forward 20 years, and the FD is still one of the most beautiful cars around. Its simple and smooth lines have aged just right, and the classic looks appeal to all of us car enthusiasts.
Where do I start with Don’s sexy RX-7 FD? I think it is one of the simplest yet most beautiful RX-7's I’ve ever laid eyes on. Don decided to focus on performance and handling modifications, keeping the exterior appearance mostly stock.
Looking at the car, the first things you notice are the Enkei RPF1s. They are 18x9.5 wrapped with a sticky 255 35 Michelin Pilot Sports rubber on all four corners.
Don converted his RX-7 to a single TO4E 60trim ball bearing turbo with a T4, 1.0 A/R turbine. That setup is good for 422RWHP, 354TQ at 17psi on pump!
The interior is also kept nice and simple. The Recaro Carbon Kevlar bucket seats are elegant and the MOMO Race steering wheel is a tasteful touch.
Here is the list of the modifications:
TO4E 60trim ball bearing turbo with a T4, 1.0 A/R turbine
3.5" DP, 3.5" resonated MP>Trust 3" titanium catback
